AWS has announced an important new feature in Amazon Aurora for MySQL users. If you already have a MySQL database, you can make a snapshot, upload it to Amazon S3, and create an Amazon Aurora cluster. This way, users can quickly and smoothly migrate a MySQL database to Aurora without interrupting their applications.
Test runs on this feature show you can migrate 2 TB of data with hardly any impact on your system performance. It has also proven to be 1000% faster than using the mysqldump utility.
This feature is now up and running and you can avail of it today. You can find out more from the Amazon Aurora user guide. If you want to find out which cloud database service is best for your business, contact our cloud specialists today at PolarSeven.
