AWS has come up with a new solution that matches different services to serve a particular need: the Transit VPC. A networking construct, you can use this to link several VPCs together to a single VPC, despite their being in different locations or in different accounts.
This solution makes network management easier and lowers the number of connections you need to make. Being virtual, it also does not require physical infrastructure.
The transit VPC solution can be applied in several ways. Firstly, you can build a private network spanning at least two AWS regions. Secondly, you can have several VPCs sharing the same data centers, clouds, and networks. Finally, you can have VPCs and AWS resources inside of them reside in multiple accounts.
You have three throughput options, ranging from 500 Mbps to 2 GBpS. The throughput and licensing model you choose determines your fee. It may range from $0.21 to $8.4, with additional $0.10 per hour per spoke VPC. Finally, there’s a $1 per month for an AWS KMS customer master key attached to the solution.
