serverless application repositoryServerless applications have been a mainstay in AWS ever since it was first introduced, with AWS Lambda leading the way. To support its continued growth, AWS released the Serverless Application Model (SAM) to make it easier to deploy and manage serverless applications on AWS.

Given this step forward, AWS will be releasing a new AWS Serverless Application Repository. This console will aid with the deployment, publishing, and discovery of serverless applications.

For producers of serverless apps, they may publish to this repository in SAM format, along with SPDX license identifier. You may choose to share this privately (within individuals or groups) or publicly (all AWS customers). You may store source codes and other parts of your application in Github. All serverless apps may use open-sourced licenses approved by the OSI.

This feature is currently available on preview. If you would like to submit applications to the repository, you may sign up here. Afterwards, using resource-based IAM policies, you may control access by sharing your applications with a specific team, or for public use.

Users may access these applications through the Lambda console. Eventually, it will be available through the AWS Management Console, the AWS Command Line Interface, or through CLIs. Meanwhile, stay tuned for the official launch.
