EC2 Run Command is a simple way to manage many AWS EC2 instances in one go. AWS has updated the service to make it even better.
Document Management and Sharing
If you have any command documents which you execute using EC2 Run Command, you can now manage and share them. This lowers the chances for errors and variability in your system.
By clicking on a document, you can examine its function and parameters before running it. You can also share it publicly or privately with other AWS accounts.
More Predefined Commands
These four new commands make common processes simple and easy to manage.
- AWS-ListWindowsInventory – Gather inventory data on each instance (OS, applications, and updates).
- AWS-FindWindowsUpdates – List missing Windows updates
- AWS-InstallMissingWindowsUpdates
- AWS-InstallSpecificWindowsUpdates – identify the updates you wish to install using their Knowledge Base (KB) ID.
