CloudWatch Metrics Reduced Prices

AWS had released Custom Metrics for AWS CloudWatch back in 2011. Formerly, you get 10 custom metrics for free and any additionals cost $0.5 per metric per month.

Now, AWS is announcing a price reduction for CloudWatch Metrics (the first 10 are still free).  According to tier, the pricing is as follows:

Tier

0 – 10,000 metrics                                          $0.30 per metric per month    

10,001 – 240,000 metrics                             $0.10 per metric per month

240,001 – 750,000 metrics                           $0.05 per metric per month

Above 750,000   metrics                                $0.02 per metric per month

(note: only for US East, Northern Virginia)

The final tier will provide a discount of 96% from current rates. These new AWS CloudWatch rates will take effect on December 1, 2016.
