EC2 has two specialized tools to help customers import their own virtual machines in to AWS VM Import/Export and AWS Management Portal for vCenter. With these services, customers don’t have to worry about using their existing virtual machines.
AWS has further improved these tools by providing support for more operating systems. You may now import VMs from:
- SUSE/SLES 11-12
- Oracle Enterprise Linux 6-7
- Fedora 19-21
- Windows 10
Also, the AWS Management Portal for vCenter may now import any operating system image that VM Import/Export can accept, even multi-volume VMware images. Importing them creates Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) and EC2 instances.
These are available for use right now. For additional information on how to apply AWS EC2 to your enterprise, contact our AWS-certified consultants at PolarSeven today.
