AWS Directory Service just got an upgrade—it can now send emails and texts to you once the directory goes in or out of “Active” state. When this change is detected, you get a message through AWS Simple Notification System, along with the right topic.
The Amazon Directory Service lets you configure, run, or connect to an existing Microsoft Active Directory inside AWS, with little fuss. Once you’re in, you can do take many actions such as manage users and groups, create and apply a group policy, and more.
AWS SNS, on the other hand, allows you to send messages from the cloud to subscribers or apps. Highly-scalable and affordable, you can even use it to trigger Lambda functions to automate your response.
