AWS has updated its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) service with a new Run command that lets you easily manage your instances, no matter how many they are. Run works on all Windows instances through the pre-installed EC2Config. This powerful feature lets you do a variety of actions such as install third party software, manage local groups and users, restart a Windows service, run scripts or MS PowerShell commands, update Windows settings, and much more.
You may access the Run feature from the AWS Management Console, AWS Command Line Interface, AWS Tools for Windows PowerShell, and the AWS SDKs. This feature is now available for US East (Northern Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland) regions.
