AirbnbWith over 2 million registered homeowners across 190 countries, AirBnB has changed the course of the hospitality industry. To date, over 80 million guests have stayed in an AirBnB home, and the company’s has become a staple for travelers.

At the start of its journey, AirBnB needed resources and infrastructure, and needed them fast. They also did not have a lot of time to devote to maintaining them. That’s where AWS came in.

AWS EC2 provided the company with the necessary compute services while AWS S3 served their data storage needs. This made it simple for AirBnB to come up with scalable servers to meet growing customer demand. They also migrated their MySQL database to Amazon RDS to reduce the time-consuming admin tasks.

In short, nearly all AirBnB compute tasks were transferred to AWS. Today, AirBnB continues to improve its functions by adding additional services, such as AWS Key Management Service to enhance security.
